Coastal cars: what to look for

Salt air can speed up corrosion, so on any car that has lived near the sea, look closely at the underbody, sills, brake discs and the lower edges of doors and wheel arches. Surface marks on brake discs are normal after rain, but deep pitting is worth asking about.
